Building Orthanc – Part One
Ok, now from the previous posts, you most likely have guessed what the project I have been alluding to was: the Tower of Orthanc, the largest Lord of the Rings set, and probably the most beautiful too. The ent from the previous post was just an appetizer, today let’s start with the main dish:
As the Orc that guided us in the beginning has become mysteriously unavailable, this Uruk-hai is replacing him to show us around.
I often wonder why some bricks that later become invisible in the set are made of very random colors. I have a few sets like that, but here it’s quite noticeable (until they get covered forever).
The wargs sticker is kinda fun, but I have to admit, I would have like a real warg minifigure much more.
I’m not a big fan of those trap doors and other mechanisms that many sets have. Do they really make the set more playable? (does anybody reading this has kids playing with those sets?)
(to be continued)
